A tactical flashlight is used in conjunction with a weapon to assist in low light and target identification. The torches can be hand-held or mounted on a weapon with a light beam parallel to the bore. The tactical flashlight also serves as a method of non-lethal force, it serves to temporarily blind and disorient targets. Features especially associated with tactical lights include impact resistance, reliability, lightweight construction and powerful batteries with long life and high intensity flashlight. The tactical flashlight may have optional LEDs to produce colored light, such as red, or may emit only infrared radiation for use with night vision devices.
